We’ve all been there, trying to login into our account, can't remember the password, clicking the forgot password button and then changing the password making it even more difficult to remember them next time. Although we wish we could keep them stored somewhere but it's not a good idea to keep our important passwords on a file lying around on our computer. They must be stored securely. The MasterKey app is a project by The Sudoers Club coded in C programming language, intended to reduce the need of remembering every password you create and promoting its ideology of having one password for all the passwords. And yes, they are stored encrypted.
With the edit dictionary option, you can view, add, remove, and change passwords in your dictionary. The add password option will prompt you for the password and a name for it to add it in your dictionary. The remove password option will open a window for you from where you can remove or edit the password's name. When moving or modifying the app, you can rely on the backup and restore feature to import and export passwords in an encrypted format..
The settings menu consists of features like changing your masterkey, resetting the app, and updating and completely uninstalling the app. Resetting the app clears all your app data recovery settings and the app becomes as good as newly installed. Check for updates will process any updates and will prompt you to install if available. The install app option deletes the app completely and erases all the program files, installed packages, etc.
Your passwords are stored in an encrypted format on your computer When you select view passwords, you are presented with a list of your passwords, from which you can copy the passwords to decrypt them. After copying the password you want to decrypt, paste it into the "Menu > [2] Decrypt Password option" and you will get the original password you stored.
